DropCrate ("the Extension") respects your privacy and handles data transparently. This policy describes what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and where it is stored.

1. Information We Collect

DropCrate does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information to any server. The following data is stored only in your browser's local storage:

Asset catalog cache — the list of free assets and their metadata, fetched from Unity Asset Store and Fab.
Owned asset IDs — retrieved via each platform's public API/page when you are signed in.
User preferences — theme, filters, and notification settings.
Unity account display info — name/email used only to distinguish which account's owned assets are shown. Extracted directly from the Unity page and stored locally.

2. Cookies and Authentication Access

To read your owned assets, the Extension reads authentication cookies for unity.com and fab.com and sends API requests to those sites. During this process:

Cookie values themselves are never stored or transmitted anywhere.
API requests are sent directly from your browser to the respective platform.
Only the response data (asset IDs) is saved locally.

3. Network Requests

The Extension communicates only with the following domains:

assetstore.unity.com — Unity Asset Store catalog and owned-asset queries
fab.com — Fab catalog and owned-asset queries
auth.unity.com / api.unity.com — Unity sign-in state checks

No external analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising networks are used.

4. Data Storage

All data is stored in chrome.storage.local and never leaves your device. Removing the Extension deletes all stored data.

5. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party.

6. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from that age group.

7. Policy Changes

This policy may be updated as features or legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes.
